Make a Difference
The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist will engage with individuals and families to improve their health and wellness live selfdirective lives and strive to reach their full potential. This role is responsible for conducting crisis response with a traumainformed approach during a crisis event providing support and assisting with deescalation to individuals in the community and via the crisis response hotline. The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers engagement in treatment in regaining control over their lives and recovery process. They will model competence in recovery and coping and are willing to utilize his/her/their own story of recovery to assist consumers toward their own recovery goals. The team will partner with first responders and community partners to reduce arrests and the need for support from emergency departments.
Required Certifications/Licensures: (Current Indiana Drivers License with valid vehicle insurance Verified completion of a state1approved Certified Recovery Specialist training program and passing score on certification exam. Or Completed Addiction Peer Recovery Coach Certification.)
1 years: Experience in a human service recovery field (Required)
Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
- Patients First: The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary care team by supporting the comprehensive psychosocial assessments. They help clients regulate emotions and document services provided in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) based on policies and procedures. They meet clients where they are at by providing support in clients homes in community settings at crisis departments or at emergency departments.
- Relationships: Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward problemsolving. They will assist with crisis and emergency departments when not responding to offsite crisis calls.
- Integrity: The Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist will comply with all applicable Behavioral Health Care Service policies and procedures.
