StaffJob Description
The HighPressure Combustion Group at the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position focused on advancing the understanding and application of the study of the combustion of liquid fuel droplets at elevated pressures in an environment that promotes spherical symmetry during combustion. This role will support cuttingedge research on developing an experimental database to be used for future numerical and theoretical methods. The spherical droplet flame adopted in this study is to provide important combustion properties for our further understanding of combustion physics at pressures representative of practical combustion engines such as diesel engines. The selected candidate is expected to have the necessary background responsible for the above research topics and help us expand through grant proposals.
This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.
Responsibilities:
Build the HighPressure Combustion Apparatus for liquid fuel combustion experiments.
Build an experimental data base for future validation of computational and theoretical works.
Conduct a comprehensive literature review on the topics related to this research and other areas as needed.
Prepare highquality research reports and publish journal articles.
Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students with research projects.
Develop proposals for funding from federal state or other agencies and corporations.
