QMHP Juvenile Justice Navigator

As a Community Navigator you will provide individual family and communitybased treatment and skills training to youth in the juvenile justice system. In addition you will provide case management services to address the various needs of youth and their families for prevention and system navigation. In this role you will focus on deferring youth from confinement to managing their needs safely and effectively in the community with timely engagement to services including crisis stabilization. You will promote and conduct services for youth and families who do not meet criteria for higher level of care to maintain their status proactively and prevent further system involvement. You will impact youth families and the community by collaborating with partners to ensure needs are met while strengthening youth and family resiliency and knowledge. You will receive on the job certification as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
Minimum qualifications: Bachelors Degree
Defined Education: Health and Humans Services field of Applied Behavior Analysis Child Development Counseling Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Intervention Education Psychology Gerontology Human Growth and Development Medicine Nursing Physician Assistant Psychology Registered Nurse Rehabilitation & Rehab Studies Social Work Sociology or Special Education
Substitutions: Completion of college level coursework equivalent to requirements for QMHP credential
Experience: None
License/Certifications: Valid Texas drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
License/Certifications: Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) OR eligible for QMHP certification (based on minimum and defined education above)
