A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The Director Ethics and Compliance International reports to the Sr. Director Assistant General Counsel and develops implements maintains and improves the ethics and compliance program for commercial operations in applicable global markets. This role works closely with Tandem executives to continually assess risk areas and monitor compliance controls. Responsibilities also include serving as an advisor on compliance matters related to marketing and promotion and medical education and medical affairs activities; conducting staff training; and implementing audit procedures consistent with the compliance program.

- Develop implement and improve Tandems international healthcare compliance program.
- Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for all international compliance related activities responding to compliance questions concerns and complaints from individuals throughout the organization as well as external sources.
- Establish relationships and serve as a strategic business partner to crossfunctional leads and senior management to drive a culture of compliance throughout Tandem.
- Develop and deliver training in support of the compliance training program that educates employees on compliancerelated topics fostering a culture of compliance awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
- Partner with crossfunctional company leadership to develop implement and maintain policies and systems that prevent violations of law regulations and company policies while enabling operational excellence.
- Oversee the creation review and revision of compliance policies procedures and guidelines to ensure they meet current legal and regulatory standards and best practices.
- Perform and document regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address them effectively.
- Establish methods such as periodic audits to improve the efficiency and quality of services and reduce vulnerability to fraud and abuse.
- Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends root causes and opportunities for compliance program improvement.
- Develop and maintain a compliance recordkeeping system and metrics including preparation of relevant reports.
- Investigate reports or allegations of possible unethical or improper business practices and monitor subsequent corrective action and/or compliance activities.
- Oversee global transparency reporting and develop systems to ease the reporting burden.
- Participate in project planning implementation and postimplementation activities to support global compliance initiatives.
- Drive thirdparty due diligence process management and mitigation planning with Legal for all highrisk third parties such as distributors sales agents joint venture partners and other third parties located in highrisk jurisdictions having regard to FCPA UK Bribery Act and other applicable compliance laws internationally.
- Prepare HCP and influencer agreements in accordance with local laws.
- Ensure compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other legal and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOULL NEED:
- Thorough understanding of best practices and key ethics and compliance legislation relating to ethics and antibribery such as the US FCPA the UK Bribery Act and other similar regulations.
- Indepth knowledge of the MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice as regards the interaction with healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations.
- Proactive and handson leader who understands the need for involvement at all levels of activity within a growing and dynamic Company environment.
- Demonstrated ability with building implementing and continuously improving the compliance function.
- Proven success at embedding compliance as a key business differentiator and competitive advantage in all aspects of the business.
- Demonstrated strength in upholding ethical standards and experience in the development and deployment of a companywide compliance program.
- Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information; collect and research data and work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables.
- Excellent decisionmaking skills with the ability to use a mixture of analysis wisdom experience and judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and flexibility to function in a fast paced and innovative environment.
- Able to effectively cope with change; can decide and act without having the total picture doesnt have to finish things before moving on. Comfortably handles risk and uncertainty.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively and able to identify and recommend best course of action from several alternatives.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint for effective management reporting and presentation.
- French speaking strongly preferred.
EXTRA AWESOME:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience required.
- Advanced degree such as Juris Doctor strongly preferred.
- Compliance certification strongly preferred.
- 10 plus years of relevant work experience including at least 5 years working in an inhouse Legal/Ethics and Compliance department with a multinational corporation including ethics and compliance policy development investigations and training.
- Indepth experience working with Sales and Marketing teams required.
- Accounting/Finance background strongly preferred.
