Reporting to the Farm Manager the Farm Labourer is responsible for a variety of duties depending on the seasonal operation of the TH Farm. These duties may include but are not limited to: tilling shoveling planting weeding feeding livestock harvest inventory cleaning organizing and other general labour duties such as basic carpentry supplies pickup and delivery and basic general maintenance assistance identified by the Farm Manager. This position may also assist in the sales of TH Farm products as required. The TH Farm continues to build knowledge on northern growing and development of food security options through the incorporation of: traditional crops; nontraditional / staple food crops; medicinal herbs plants shrubs; animal husbandry; commercial products; and a yearround greenhouse. This yearround farm operation promotes the production of a fresh and sustainable source of food for community members.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent fulltime permanent parttime temporary fulltime temporary parttime term or auxiliary oncall vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of gardening and/or farming practices.
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn the process of raising animals for food.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn acceptable food storage and preservation standards.
- Experience with basic general maintenance.
- Experience in using hand and electrical tools.
- Experience with or willingness to learndriving various vehicles and current safety certificates. (ATVs boats trailers tractors etc.).
- Experience with or willing to learn basic bookkeeping salesretail and marketing.
- Ability to work in strenuous positions such as kneeling crouching and repetitive movements.
Conditions of Employment:
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Class 5 Drivers License with clear drivers abstract an asset but notrequired.
- Standard First Aid or willingness to obtain.
- Bear Aware ATV Safety Chainsaw Safety or willingness to obtain.
- TH 101 Cultural Awareness Training.
