Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications are essential: Must hold an occupational therapist license in the state of California or be eligible for licensure within one year of appointment. Must maintain continuing competency as an Occupational Therapist Registered ( OTR ) by NBCOT . Must hold a doctoral degree (e.g. PhD EdD OTD ) awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE recognized regional accrediting body. The doctoral degree in not limited to a doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are desirable: At least two (2) years of experience in a fulltime academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post baccalaureate level. A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in the field of occupational therapy. Must demonstrate ongoing scholarly achievement and research expertise. Knowledge of state federal and local laws/regulation relating to program compliance and other regulatory standards such as Commission on Accreditation in Occupational Therapy Education ( ACOTE ) and other accreditation standards. Experience with online pedagogy. Sincere desire for personal growth and development as an educator including teaching scholarship and service throughout ones career. Effective interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven organizational skills. Positive attitude proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion of the institutional mission and values.
