Job Description

Join us for theschool year! Are you passionate about making a difference and creating inclusive environments As an Inclusion Aide youll be at the heart of our Preschool program providing handson support to individuals and helping them thrive. Youll work closely with our team to adapt activities promote peer interaction and ensure every participant feels welcomed and valued. If youre ready to inspire support and make a lasting impact we want you on our team!


The hours for the inclusion aide position will be from 8:45am 11:45am on Monday Wednesday and Friday. The aide will work one onone with a student in the classroom.


Essential Job Duties

  • Assist the individual(s) in participating in all activities at the program.
  • Adapt activities rules equipment and/or supplies as needed to ensure quality participation as
    well as the most independent participation possible.
  • Act as an advocate for the participant. Emphasize the individuals abilities and similarities
  • Encourage participation and development of friendships.
  • Communicate with the supervisor program instructor or teacher regularly on program and Park
    District matters.
  • Feed take to the bathroom lift and transfer participant if applicable.
  • Attend to specific dietary restrictions of participants following through with plans provided by
    families.
  • Follow participant plans at all times.
  • Provide behavior management as necessary.
  • Communicate daily with parents.
  • Assist the program instructor or teacher with planning and implement daily curriculum. Offer
    suggestions for adaptations if applicable.
  • Keep participants safe at all times.
  • Know whereabouts of assigned participant(s) at all times.
  • Monitor participant(s) belongings.
  • Assist program instructor or teacher with implementing program lessons and activities.


Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working with special needs population preferred.
  • CPR and AED certification or willingness to obtain
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Valid Illinois State Drivers License (Class D)
