The Grant Facilitator supports faculty in identifying developing and submitting external research grant proposal applications to funding agencies. The Grant Facilitator acts as a liaison between and works directly with the Director of Research Services and Industry Engagement external funders faculty members and Research Office staff on all new research grant proposals and their submission. This includes reviewing advising and submitting new and revised research proposals. The Facilitator is responsible for interpreting requirements consulting with stakeholders and ensuring eligibility of applicants. The Grant Facilitator ensures compliance with institutional and funding agency guidelines and promoting research initiatives that align with the universitys goals.
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized postsecondary institution. Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience writing grants and research proposals.
Detailed knowledge of research funding requirements and guidelines with the portfolio.
Experience working with TriCouncil funding agencies.
Ability to exercise appropriate judgement in the interpretation of funding conditions and criteria and relevant policies.
Financial knowledge consistency in budget processes evaluation frameworks and accuracy in entry of information.
Excellent knowledge of the full research life cycle.
Excellent writing skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preference for candidates with experience working with postsecondary institutions.
Excellent interpersonal skills problem solving and communication skills.
