Position Overview:
Be part of a growing dealership and one of the most important teams the service department! PLS Auto is seeking a fullservice Automotive Repair Technician to diagnose and repair operational issues on various makes and models of vehicles which are generally 3 to 10 years old.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints (described by a manager); conducting inspections; diagnosing functionality issues; repairing diagnosed mechanical failures in a timely manner; repairing multiple system issues including electrical cooling braking HVAC steering and other system malfunctions; replacing parts and components
- Understand and use standard diagnostic tools such as code readers and shop software programs to maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
- Make any and all repairs necessary to vehicles including the removal and replacement of major components
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
- Contain costs by evaluating service and parts options
- Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock placing orders and verifying receipt
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- 3 years of handson experience diagnosing and repairing used vehicles in a commercial service facility including working in a dispatcher type system and ordering parts when necessary
- National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred
- A track record of dependable diagnostic capability references required
- Must provide own tools
- Work in a minimally climatecontrolled facility daily
- Capable of customer interaction when necessary
- Valid drivers license with good driving record
Physical Requirements:
- This is a heavy line technician position with the standard physical demands of that position
