About the Role:
The temporary Senior Advisor Psychological Health and Safety (PHS) provides expert advice consultation and leadership support on psychological health and safety and mental health matters. The successful incumbent will have the opportunity to have a direct and meaningful impact at ATCO. You will facilitate change building organizational capability and competence for greater psychological wellness practices within the organization.
What You Get to Do:
Education and Program Development
- Develop execute and facilitate comprehensive psychological health and safety educational materials and programs that align with ATCOs values goals and cultural approach to creating a safe and inclusive work environment
- Analyze and build upon existing materials and programs and developing and delivering new comprehensive training tools programs resources leveraging a variety of sources and best practice tools such as the Canadian Standard of Psychological Health and Safety the ISO Standard on Psychological Health and safety etc.
- Provide continuous education to employees and leaders through various initiatives education sessions and formal training on best practice & principles of psychological safety
- Create implement and measure the impact of plans programs and initiatives to drive psychological health and safety progress within ATCO in collaboration with Occupational Health and Safety and various stakeholders across ATCO and external partners/organizations.
Business Partner & Subject Matter Expertise
- Provide leadership guidance and subject matter expertise to leaders other HR specialists Centers of Expertise as well as various internal stakeholderson psychological health and safety issues
- Partner with HRBPs and subsequently business leaders to integrate psychological safety into business strategies and operations. Provide insights and recommendations to ensure that psychological safety is considered in decisionmaking processes and organizational changes.
- Build organizational competence around psychological health and safety establish various supports like online toolkits that individuals and teams can use to prevent and mitigate psychological harm promote mental health
- Foster positive and collaborative relationships and trust across numerous business units departments and organizational levels of ATCO and external agencies such as various police agencies standards and legislation
- Provides strategic and operational advice focused on the identification and elimination of systemic barriers to ensuring safety of ATCO employees
Policy Development
- Collaborate with DEI & HR senior leadership to create and enforce policies that support a psychologically safe work environment.
- Research best practices and standards in psychological safety from other organizations and industry leaders.
- Work with key stakeholders including HR legal compliance and business leaders to gather input and ensure the policies are practical and enforceable.
Metrics Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and analyze data related to psychological safety and prepare reports to inform decisionmaking and measure the effectiveness of initiatives.
- Conduct surveys focus groups and interviews with employees to establish a baseline for psychological health within the organization
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure impact and continuous improvement
Continuous Learning & Industry Research
- Act as an internal expert on DE&I including legislation and employment laws external trends market changes and best practices
- Stay updated on the latest external research political landscape and best practices in psychological safety and mental health and continuously improve programs and policies.
What You Bring:
- Completed Undergraduate or Masters degree in Psychology Education Organizational Culture or other relevant fields
- Minimum of 7 years related experience with progressively responsible accountabilities in an organization of significant size complexity and diversity
- Previous experience developing supporting and/or delivering psychological health and safety education and resources
- Understanding of relevant legislation and policies
- Previous experience with stakeholder engagement consultation and facilitation
- Previous experience working with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working with diverse communities groups and/or organizations (i.e. ethnocultural equitysetting racialized faithbased LGBTQ2S vulnerable marginalized persons with disabilities and persons across all age groups etc.)
- Understanding of the critical role that diversity equity and inclusion plays in creating a psychologically safe and inclusive workplace.
- Completion of Mental Health Commission of Canada Psychological Health and Safety Advisor Training preferred
- CCIP CPHR and/or Certified Change Management Professional designations are assets
