We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Stevedoring Supervisor to join our team at Logistec. In this role you will oversee and coordinate the loading and unloading of cargo at our port of terminal ensuring safe efficient and timely operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cargo handling excellent leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety and operational standards. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of stevedore teams during vessel loading and unloading operations.
- Ensure all cargo handling operations are conducted safety efficiently and in compliance with company policies port regulations and industry standards.
- Plan and organize workflows to maximize operational efficiency and minimize vessel turnaround times.
- Communicate with vessel agents terminal operators and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any operational issues.
- Conduct preship briefings to provide teams with instructions safety guidelines and operational goals.
- Monitor equipment usage ensuring proper handling maintenance and availability of tools and machinery required for cargo operations.
- Train mentor and evaluate stevedoring staff to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental safety and health regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate; college degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of proven experience in cargo handling stevedoring or maritime operations.
- Must be eligible for a TWIC card.
- Provide leadership and behave in an exemplary manner.
- Ability to work efficiently in a changing and fastpaced environment.
- Knowledge of methods and equipment utilized in stevedoring and/or warehouse operations; supervisory experience.
- Health and Safety oversight experience; knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills to coordinate efficient teamwork and promote cooperation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours including nights weekends and holidays as required by vessel schedules.
- Salary: $28$32/hr.
