Job Description
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties of the position. Basic knowledge of the methods materials and equipment used in custodial work and room set ups. Ability to perform work involving regular physical activity observe safety requirements and adhere to safe work practices and methods (examples include by are not limited to: climbing steps or ladders shoveling snow moving furniture operate heavy powerdriven cleaning equipment etc.) Working knowledge of computers and technology. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety. Ability to operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Position may require the ability to safely move up to 5075 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of fulltime professional work experience. Prior experience working in building maintenance and/or custodial field. Supervisory experience including but not limited to: training and managing employees ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to employees implement strategies to build a successful team and mentoring. Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills to represent and support departmental initiatives across campus and with community partners. Familiarity with EMS Software or comparable space request software.
