Guidance Counselor (Grades 712)
Attleboro Community Academy
Essential Functions
Assists students and families in developing students high school educational plans.
Assists students and families with all facets of college and postsecondary planning.
Develops the buildings schedule with team recommendations
Services the needs of transfer students.
Ensures transcripts are accurate.
Establishes and maintains positive and ongoing communication with administration teachers families and the community through various means.
Formulates intervention plans for students.
Supports schoolwide initiatives.
Demonstrates knowledge and use of pertinent technologies social media and computerprograms such as ASPEN Naviance and Google experience is preferred.
Participates in team meetings including but not limited to 504 or Special Education teammeetings.
Engages in community outreach including contacts with college admissions offices for outgoing students and middle/high schools for incoming students.
Classroom teaching responsibilities related to the schools guidance curriculum (MYCAP etc).
Performs other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by ACA Administration.
