We are seeking an educator who can differentiate instruction for diverse students and will inspire our students love for language learning. We want a teacher who values experimentation a growth mindset and individual expression.
What would the job entail
This is an opportunity for a French language educator to work with our intermediate coordinators to create and implement a language learning program that caters specifically to bright and curious learners. The successful candidate will have an indepth understanding of the BC Curriculum in Languages Education and lead Grade 48 classes in meaningful inquirybased learning experiences. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about working with gifted students and understand both the socialemotional and academic needs of gifted learners.
You will also:
- Promote and support the mission vision and values of the school;
- Design prepare and deliver engaging units and lessons in French;
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs;
- Implement assessment for as and of learning;
- Report on students strengths and areas for growth;
- Communicate regularly with parents about student learning and goals;
- Participate in department meetings staff meetings and professional development workshops
- Work collaboratively with the schoolbased team to progress monitor and update IEPs;
- Nurture students academic social and emotional growth;
- Use and integrate technology to support teaching and learning;
- Participate in leading/coaching extracurricular clubs and activities after school.
What you have to have:
- Bachelor of Education;
- An undergraduate degree with a major in French;
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate;
- Experience teaching second languages in an elementary school setting.
