About the Job
The Red Hat Edge Business Unit is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join us to help drive the product strategy and roadmap for Red Hats Edge Computing portfolio. The ideal candidate brings a blend of knowledge from IT Technologies (Linux OS Kubernetes Virtualization Modern App Dev etc.) and Operations Technologies (Industrial Controls & Automation systems Retail store technologies etc.)
What Youll Do
- Take ownership of endtoend business needs of our customers and partners: problem definition defining requirements and managing the roadmap and backlog
- Engage key customers and partners in technical conversations to understand customer needs while working with a talented and collaborative team to build innovative solutions
- Collaborate with Red Hat product and engineering teams to drive new Edgefocused capabilities across Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenShift Ansible etc.
- Develop a deep understanding of one or more of the following: Industrial Edge (vertical solutions for manufacturing energy oil & gas etc.) Retail Edge (store transformation warehouse technologies) any generic Enterprise IT Edge
- Manage and coordinate complex multiphased deliverables by guiding crossfunctional teams to define scope plan and deliver highquality software for the edge market
- Develop and nurture relationships with key internal and external stakeholders while fostering an environment of collaboration trust and accountability
What Youll Bring
- Bachelors degree in engineering computer science marketing or a related area; MBA is a plus
- 5 years of experience working as a product manager for Operations Technology systems or software or in IT Enterprise software or in Embedded Computing systems
- Deep knowledge of edge computing industry trends key ecosystem players and IT application architectures (traditional and modern)
- Proven record of building new products and solutions by leading cross functional teams with influence and persuasion
- Ability to work with sales and marketing in product positioning and gotomarket strategies for mission critical software products
- Prior experience with Edge solutions in Industrial Automation Retail stores and warehouses or Telco Edge is is preferred
- Working knowledge of open source software and development models is preferred
- Ability to work remotely in US Eastern work hours; Willing to travel up to 25%
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location experience applicable skills and training external market value and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hats compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus commission and/or equity. For positions with RemoteUS locations the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
