REPORTS TO:PrincipalJOB MISSION:To lead encourage and assist students in developing their literacy skills to a higher level through strategic interventions as measured by regular data collectionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be KNOWLEDGE1.1Continuously improve professional knowledge and practice through appropriate professional development activities; share information and knowledge with other teachers; apply the best research in the design and development of school curriculum.1.2Maintain and incorporate the best research in instructional materials and FOR INSTRUCTION2.1Implement intervention plans and monitor student progress2.2 Set shortterm and yearlong goals based on sound principles and practices of learning.2.3Develop and maintain lesson plans based on shortterm and yearlong goals and share when OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT3.1Integrate current technologies as tools to enhance instructional strategies and increase student OF INSTRUCTION4.1Promote a high level of active learning through setting high standards and clear goals and modifying instruction to help all students achieve those standards.4.2Maintain systems of assessment and measurements which reflect progress in achieving instructional ENVIRONMENT5.1Establish an atmosphere that encourages sensitivity and respect among students and with the teacher and practices and routines which create an appropriate learning environment.5.2Design instructional experiences in which students achieve high standards and optimize their performance by taking responsibility for their own ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS6.1Maintain open and effective communication with students parents staff and administration using expected professional standards.6.2Participate actively in team/department/staff TO STUDENTS BEYOND THE CLASSROOM7.1Be available for student and/or parent TO THE SCHOOL AND/OR TEACHING PROFESSION8.1Work collaboratively to identify areas for school improvement develop possible strategies and assess results.8.2Analyze and share progress monitoring AND COMPLIANCE WITH SCHOOL REGULATIONS9.1Observe and implement the rules and regulations established for the school :Consistent with current Agreement between the Longmeadow School Committee and the Longmeadow Education RESPONSIBILITIES:NONE
