Job Overview: The role of the Lead Research Analyst is to facilitate and manages the accurate and efficient collection and reporting of data. The Lead Research Analyst designs modifies and trains OPI staff on data collection models and data collection requirements. This position designs data quality assurance and control procedures interprets rule law and data specification to update business rules and procedures. The Lead Research Analyst is required to coordinate research and data collection projects with various other state agencies federal agencies and other states department of education.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (Behaviors):

Required for the first day of work:

Knowledge of principles practices and theories of data collection research and analysis.

Knowledge in problemsolving skills: ability to apply statistical analysis

Knowledge of database concepts and methods

Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services

Knowledge and experience with project management principles and best practices

Knowledge of the theory principles and techniques of research planning and organization data collection strategies and procedures and data collection instruments

Ability to design complex queries in SQL

Ability with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks

Ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines while maintaining consistently higher levels of product quality

Ability to work under multiple deadlines with assigned funding

Ability to work both independently and effectively as a member of a team

Ability to interpret law policy and rule.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):

A Bachelors degree in mathematics statistics economics or a related field.

Four or more years of related experience.

Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted

This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1 2025 and July 1 2026.
