Position Summary:
The Planner/Scheduler reports directly to the Scheduling Manager. This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of resourceloaded schedules. The Planner/Scheduler applies good strong and diversified knowledge of Project Control Management principles and practices relevant to manufacturing projects in meeting schedule objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepares production schedules with attention to product data such as types quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan operations.
Identify bottlenecks in manufacturing process analyze root cause and provide/implement solutions.
Plans production operations establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing
Route assemblies to appropriate workstations.
Keep teams and individuals aware of key milestones deadlines and potential delays.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Monitor the project plan related to flow of materials inventory and timing of manufacturing operations.
Print work orders and distribute to shop in timely manner.
Coordinate with Purchasing on material availability.
Assist in the preparation of status briefings status reports and presentations.
Host daily meetings with supervisors and management to update on schedule.
Generate various schedule based reports.
Work directly with department supervisors to clearly define daily production expectations/quotas.
To work overtime as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
35 years in a scheduling/planning roll.
Strong oral and written communication/presentation skills
Ability to work independently and selfdirected
Analytical skill abilities; Organized & Detail oriented
Confidence and capability to multitask complicated issues at one time
Computer skills (Made2Manage ERP program or able to learn quickly Microsoft Excel Word and Project etc)
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain/Project Management and/or Manufacturing
Manufacturing Experience
Production Control experience. Physical Demands: Hours: Monday Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Week: 40 Lunch: 30 mins (Overtime may be required based on shop needs but must be preapproved by management.) 99% office based and 1% shop. (schedule and order delivery and retrieval) Sitting: 98% Standing: 1% Walking: 1% Environment: Indoor work. Stress: Medium/High Performance Standards: Performance evaluation based on supervisors criteria.
