Job Description Summary
Are you looking for an entry level opportunity that will grow your career in a specialized field Our team is seeking a motivated individual who is looking for an entrylevel opportunity to work in our ophthalmologists office. In this position you will support in managing treating and communicating with patients alongside our ophthalmologists. The ophthalmologists you support are experts in eye health assessment diseases treatment and vision. Ophthalmologists assistants dont require extensive medical training for their roles and learn many of their skills with on the job training.Monday Friday No Weekends No Holidays!!

Storm Eye treats adult and pediatric patients across the tricounty area. It includes specialties such as general ophthalmology glaucoma retina cornea oculoplastic and optometry.

NCOA:
Job Summary/Purpose:Performs a variety of general patient care activities and ophthalmic diagnostic tests and assists ophthalmologists with ophthalmic exams.
NCOA:
Minimum Training and Education:High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Successful completion of MUHA departmental competencies required; or successful completion of an accredited Ophthalmic Clinical Assistant program. Certification of COA Certified Ophthalmic Assistant is required within 612 months of hire date.
Required Licensure Certifications Registrations: Certification of COA Certified Ophthalmic Assistant is required within 612 months of hire date. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Physical Requirements:Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist kneel climb stairs reach in all directions fully use both hands and legs possess good finger dexterity perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift lower push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (/) unassisted exert up to 50 lbs of force lift from 36 to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
