What Youll Do:
This position is responsible for managing the Data Management and Oversight Unit charged with the oversight of encounter processing technical support and maintenance of data to support the agencys decisionmaking and policy development for future programmatic changes.
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversight of Technical Coordination and Support: Responsible for managing the tracking and resolution of Service Support Requests and usersubmitted tickets related to AHCCCS systems Oversee the planning review and execution of User Acceptance Testing and external trading partner testing. Facilitates external security processes in collaboration with IT staff. Coordinates behavioral health member updates and referrals. Participates in agencywide technical and datadriven projects and initiatives. Serves as a liaison between business units and IT staff. Manages the delivery and maintenance of technical and data interfaces between the agency and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
Oversight of Encounter Processing: Manages the endtoend receipt and processing of encounter data to ensure accuracy timeliness and compliance with agency standards. Provides technical assistance and guidance to MCOs on encounterrelated issues. Oversee the development delivery and maintenance of encounter training materials and manuals to support internal staff and external partners.
Unit Leadership and Management: Leads the Data Management and Oversight Unit by providing strategic guidance clear direction and ongoing support to staff. Fosters a collaborative and motivated team environment focused on meeting and sustaining evolving business needs and organizational goals.
Project and Initiative Participation: Actively contributes to agency initiatives and projects by providing technical expertise and support. Collaborates closely with technical staff to ensure effective coordination alignment with business objectives and successful implementation of project deliverables.
Technical Representation: Serves as an AHCCCS ISD representative in internal and external technical workgroups contributing subject matter expertise fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with agency goals and technical standards.
Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of Medicaid Management Information Systems and all supporting integrated applications AHCCCS encounter processing requirements and other relevant AHCCCS guides and manuals (e.g. Technical Interface Guide) AHCCCS delivery system service offerings operations networking protocols and any other computerrelated technologies
Principles concepts and current practices of State government and government management including legislative and administrative processes contracts policies laws rule and regulations

Minimum:
Bachelors degree in Mathematics Statistics Economics or related field plus 5 years of relevant professional work experience (or equivalent experience). Medicaid or Medicare experience working with healthcare data including but not limited to medical claims data at a medical insurance company or equivalent at a State or Federal level for these programs. Experience querying summarizing and manipulating data using SQL SAS Python R Machine Learning Cognos or PowerBI.
Preferred:
Masters degree in Mathematics Statistics Economics or related discipline. Experience preparing/presenting dashboards and data using a data visualization tool such as PowerBI. Experience clearly explaining complex methodologies and present findings and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Travel may be required for State business. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R210207.12.)
