Role Description
- Individual will report to the Finance Director Enabling Functions and serve as the Finance Partner for certain enabling functions primarily Global Strategy Global Commercial Development Business Development External Innovation and Global Medical Affairs.
- Individual will be relied upon to contribute and provide insight into the longterm strategic direction of the respective functions participating on some of their respective Leadership Teams.
- Individual will be ultimately responsible for the complete and accurate accounting of the respective functions ensuring accurate financial reporting and planning variance analysis and business driver understanding and conveyance to senior leadership.
- Individual will be responsible for managing continuous improvement to our financial systems and processes to ensure we keep pace with the evolution of our business and have the appropriate level of foresight in data via KPIs and other key metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Implement a sound financial process and guarantee the quality accuracy and timeliness of the Operating Plan forecasts monthly results and other financial submissions via partnering with respective teams.
- Present business results financial projections and financial analyses to senior management. Participate in business reviews and represent the financial implications of the business strategy to leadership.
- Ensure continual Finance acumen education to leadership especially on critical accounting matters including expense recognition acquisitions or other external deals and unique accounting considerations where applicable.
- Identify Risks and Opportunities provide insight support and advice on decisionmaking to achieve shortterm and longterm financial objectives. Conduct analysis that unlocks value and enhances the decisionmaking process across the enabling resource optimization through effective working capital and operating expense management.
- Serve as the financial advisor to leadership on key decisions and business strategies. Monitor track and report business performance with proactive identification of issues opportunities and challenges. Ensure that the business utilizes its resources in the most efficient manner.
- Ensure an effective internal control environment. Support the planning and execution of local internal and external audit work in partnership with Corp Controllers.
- Interact as necessary with different internal and external stakeholders. Be able to clearly articulate Zoetis position on key matters and issues.
Qualifications (Training Education & Prior Experience):
Education
- University degree in appropriate discipline (i.e. accounting finance or economics)
- Professional accounting designation Certified Public Accountant or Master in Business Administration is considered an asset.
Experience
- 710 years post qualification experience
- Experience in the Animal Health industry is considered an asset
- Prior experience leading change in a dynamic business environment
Skills
- Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of accounting internal controls financial systems and processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both verbally and in writing
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced highenergy environment
- Ability to multitask consistently meeting deadlines on multiple projects and activities
- Work effectively in a team environment and in building collaborative relationships with peers and with other stakeholders
