The Straz Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a detailoriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the fullcycle accounting process including accounts payable accounts receivable reconciliations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills a solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced nonprofit environment.

Essential Functions:
- Journalize in accordance with GAAP principles:
- All daily sales for food & beverage retail ticket sales and education operations
- Inkind donations intercompany credits and education event settlements
- Oversee inventory accounting for Food & Beverage and Retail departments ensuring accurate reporting reconciliation and valuation.
- Prepare and remit sales tax to the State of Florida in compliance with regulations.
- Manage and reconcile purchasing card receipts ensuring timely submission accuracy and proper coding.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of transactions for balance sheet accounts.
- Process all accounts receivable functions including invoice generation and collections.
- Support monthend and yearend closing processes.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
- Provide audit support by gathering required documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments and implement process improvements for efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
- Understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- 13 years of accounting experience; nonprofit experience preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Blackbaud Tessitura or Navision is a plus).
