Summary of Duties:
WSUTriCities Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEARUP) is funded with federal funds by the Department of Education whose purpose is to increase the number of lowincome and underrepresented students who graduate from high school and successfully complete postsecondary education. The Student Achievement Specialist has responsibility for using professional judgement and skills to increaseGEARUP students academic performance through direct tutoring and developing students positive academic behaviors and noncognitive skills; mentoring and advising students to increase college and career readiness; guiding students with college and career exploration plan and supervise field trips to college campuses work as a team withGEARUP staff classroom teachers counselors and administrators to analyze student data and use instructional tools and methodologies that are consistent with district interventions to achieve grant outcomes. The Student Achievement Specialist will monitor collect and document student data for assessment and reporting requirements.
This position is housed out ofWSUTriCities with a work location in Ephrata High School Ephrata WA.
Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelors degree. A Masters degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
Two (2) years of experience providing instruction or direct outreach services to students and/or working with parents in individual or group settings.
Knowledge of community educational and social service resources in the districts community.
Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office software programs Excel Outlook Word.
Willingness and ability to travel overnight and work a flexible schedule including frequent nights and weekends.
On some occasions ability to travel with supervisory responsibility of students.
Must have or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid drivers license and meet requirements underSPPM7.10 and departmental driving standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years experience working with middle/high school higher education and/orGEARUP programs.
Familiarity with organization and operation of school/district administration and university/community college systems.
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people including peers university and school administrators faculty staff students and parents and the general public.
Experience managing tracking and reporting program data. Experience in student academic support programs.
Bilingual/Biliterate in English and Spanish.

Monthly Salary: $4050.00
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.
