SUMMARY
Flathead Valley Community College is an outstanding public community college located on a beautiful campus in Kalispell Montana with panoramic views of the northern Rocky Mountains and Glacier National Park. The Admissions Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Admissions office and Admissions processes and helps our diverse customers navigate systems within student services and the College.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Advises students with the application and registration process; provides information and resources related to all student services; collaboratively troubleshoots and problem solves issues with students
  • Provides leadership mentors and supervises Admissions Associate; motivates and empowers staff to create environments that promote innovation; sets standards for excellent customer service; assures quality customer services and accurate information dissemination by staff and student staff
  • Responsible for the daytoday management of admissions processes and communications; processes online and paper applications; oversees the MUS One Application and represents the College on the OCHE MUS One Application Enrollment Leadership; oversees international student admissions process
  • Coordinates with Libby County Campus personnel on admissions processes; responsible for training and overseeing all admissions processes on LCC campus
  • Performs all functions in accordance with accreditation standards and state and federal privacy regulations particularly the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and stays informed of current state and federal regulations regarding student admissions records
  • Provides excellent customer service referrals and resolutions to students employees and public
  • Supports functions of the Registrar including but not limited to course registration transcript requests enrollment verification and other Registration office duties
  • Counsels students on residency requirements; oversees residency changes process and Residency Committee
  • Oversees and regularly reviews admissions communications to students including information on placement exams and academic advising admissions letters and emails
  • Leads the admissions processes in FVCCs current and future Student Information System website and technologies. Performs accurate data input into information system; maintains confidential files and reports; updates information according to policy and regulations.
  • May supervise student staff; maintain student staff manual and training procedures
  • Works closely and cooperatively with campus departments faculty and related agencies on programmatic financial and compliance matter
  • Researches analyzes and resolves issues that arise in student services and addresses them proactively
  • Establishes and initiates effective and timely communications to assure sharing of information
  • Remains current in practices trends and research related to areas of assignment
  • Attends related trainings workshops and professional development
  • Cross trains to perform other departmental and team functions; backfills for staff as needed
  • Actively participates in the development of a climate that promotes and supports innovation and efforts to continuously improve services to students faculty and the College
  • Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships
  • Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policies
  • Advances the mission of FVCC by serving on or convening committees and contributing in the community in collegerelated activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Reports to Dean of Student Success
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor degree in related field AND one year of professional and supervisory experience OR
  • Associate degree in related field AND three years of professional and supervisory experience OR
  • A combination of five years of higher education and professional and supervisory experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a higher education setting
  • Experience working with database/information systems

  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to respond in the event of an emergency
  • This is a Medium Duty job according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Medium Duty involves exertion of 2050 pounds of force occasionally and/or 1025 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects
