Job Description

Regional Sales Manager West fully remote

This position is located in our West region with an ideal candidate working from their home office and already living in a metro area within California Oregon Washington Arizona or Colorado within close proximity to a major airport for ease of travel.

The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for executing the strategic sales objectives for the region with the goal of supporting corporate strategic initiatives achieving field sales budgets and sales targets and optimizing sales volume and profitability. The RSM is also responsible for training managing motivating and developing the region sales agency team.

Competitive Compensation: The expected base salary for this role is between $ although a final salary offer is dependent on the candidates experience level and skill set. In addition to a competitive base salary this position participates in a sales incentive plan and offers a vehicle reimbursement program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attain sales volume objectives by developing strategies for the regions sales force implementing the field sales business plan analyzing and responding to current market conditions and accounting for BAF strategic initiatives as they are incorporated into region and field sales plans.
  • Develop close working relationships with key operator and distributor accounts through personal sales calls and participation in association events shows and entertainment. Responsible for distribution headquarter support as aligned within regional geography.
  • Communicate customer benefits offered by our foods by ensuring the regions sales team is properly trained and consistently coached using Professional Selling Skills Consultative Selling and the Basic American Foods techniques regarding product demonstration and the use of marketing tools. Inherent in the sales process is ensuring that the regional team maintains and updates the CRM with accurate and timely market data and customer activities.
  • Achieve region sales call objectives by planning motivating and executing with direct/agency Teams to identify and sell key operators throughout the assigned geographic market. Work with agency market leads to ensure company objectives are implemented in agency market plans (playbooks) agency sales teams are trained and equipped to execute BAF initiatives and sales volume and profitability goals are met.
  • Work with and coach sales agency on a regular basis to provide training business reviews accountability updates and regular feedback on sales performance.

Were Looking for Someone With:

  • Bachelors degree (B. A.) from fouryear college or university and 57 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience working for a food manufacturer is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated foodservice field sales business expertise including an ability to build close working relationships with customers achieve/exceed sales targets and motivate foodservice sales agencies to achieve set budgets.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills including the ability to present to and influence audiences of all sizes and levels.
  • Deep understanding and ability to communicate the financial implications of food solutions being presented.
  • Ability to leverage technology (CRM MS Office etc.) and analytical skills to drive business results.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
