Salary:25000 per annum

Location:Glasgow(North East and North West)

Contract/Hours: Fixed Term contract until March 2026 Full Time and Permanent Full Time

(The core hours will be 9 to 5. Flexibility will be to meet the needs in supporting the families between 8am to 8pm and 1in4 weekend working but this can be discussed at interview stage)

A bit about the role

Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership have commissioned an exciting new service in the North East and North West of the City to work alongside families in a flexible and strengths based way to help them achieve positive outcomes. As part of a citywide strategy the service will promote the wellbeing of children and young people aged 012 years to support them to stay at home and thrive with their families within their local communities by offering the right support at the right time.

Our shared vision is to support children and young people to live with their parents and siblings or where this is in the best interest of children with their extended family enabling them to grow up in their community with their friends and attend their local school.

As one of our Family Support Practitioners youll work as part of a fantastic and passionate team advocating on behalf of children and families.

How youll help to create brighter futures

Some key responsibilities of the Family Support Practitionerare;

  • Effective Assessments: Assessments will be conducted toidentify theneedsstrengths andchallengesfaced by each family and will inform the support provided.
  • Intensive Interventions: Interventions will be intensive and include: Advice and guidance forfamilies Parenting supportto address specific issues 1:1 work with childrento address their unique needs Liaising with partner agenciesto coordinate services.
  • Supporting Families:Youll provide planned supportand conduct regularreviews. The goal is to help familiesovercome barriersthey face.
  • Collaboration and Advocacy: Youll work as part of afantastic and passionate team attend meetings and collaborate withpartner agencies and advocate on behalf ofchildren and families.
  • Dynamic MultiDisciplinary Team: Youll be part of a team that works together to support positive change with the focus on improving outcomes for families.

Lets talk about you

  • SVQ 3 in social care or equivalent.
  • Post qualification experience of working with children young people and families and achieving positive outcomes through direct contribution with support activities and intervention.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable families and a broad understanding of their barriers.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing methods of assessment and interventions.
  • Drivers licence and access to a car is essential to be able to for fill the role and needs of the families.
