The role
As a Bridge Operator youll be responsible for safely opening and closing Pyrmont Bridge to allow vessels to pass while keeping pedestrians cyclists and the public safe. Youll also help process requests for berth bookings and record bridge openings making sure everything is logged and in line with procedures.
This role suits someone who enjoys handson work with machinery has good attention to detail and communicates clearly and respectfully with the public. Full training will be provided so if youre reliable safetyfocused and have a passion for heritage equipment or mechanical systems well teach you the rest. You must be available to work weekends and public holidays when required. On average our Bridge Operators work 3 weekend shifts per month totalling of 15 hours per month (although this is not guaranteed and is subject to seasonal variation).
