The Nome Trial Court is looking for a dependable individual to represent the mission of the Alaska Court System as Court Case Manager 2 (salary range 12).



The Position
This position will perform a variety of clerical and technical functions both as an InCourt Clerk and a Criminal Clerk in support of court operations. InCourt Clerk duties will include preparing the courtroom for hearings receiving and marking exhibits maintaining witness lists calendaring necessary hearings and preparing and distributing court paperwork. The incumbent will be responsible for keeping accurate log notes and ensuring a clear recording of the hearing is produced. Criminal Clerk duties will include receiving complaints citations indictments petitions to revoke probation dismissals and motions. The incumbent will review the documents for proper form calendar cases at the request of parties and prepare and distribute orders.

The Work Hours

Fulltime court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for these positions are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a onehour lunch break.

The Work Environment

The Nome Trial Court is located on 5th Avenue and provides easy access to stores or to enjoy a walk on your lunch break. When fully staffed the clerks office includes four staff fulltime staff and one parttime Court Case Managers 2 under the supervision of the Clerk of Court. As a Court Case Manager 2 you will become a part of the Nome Trial Court helping to fulfill the mission of the Alaska Court System.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

OR

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a twoyear paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

OR

A bachelors degree from an accredited college AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

WORK HISTORY

EDUCATION
If postsecondary education is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications you must fill in the Education and Training section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree please indicate the number of credit hours earned in the Degree Obtained field. Copies of academic transcripts will be required at time of interview.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
Applicants will be required to meet the Minimum Qualifications as outlined above. Unfortunately we cannot always interview all applicants.
