This is a 3rd Shift position: Sunday thru Friday 11:15 p.m. 7:00 a.m.

What You Will Do:

  • You will work with the team to assure that all tooling requirements customer requirements safety and environmental requirements are met design repair and build precision tooling and gauges used to manufacture compressor airfoils from blueprints select tools machines and techniques to complete tool room assignments on items such as machine fixtures cutters gages holding devices and other special purpose tools perform various types of tooling inspections to ensure tools are functioning properly and conform to engineering and inprocess specifications program setup and operate necessary tool room machines (CNC or manual operation) needed to complete required job assignment and investigate problems to determine reasons why tooling does not perform as expected and suggest improvements
  • Make inprocess repairs as required use advanced shop mathematics such as trigonometry and geometry enter and complete tooling work orders using SAP follow standard shop operating procedures and best practices and perform predictive preventative and routine maintenance on tool room equipment
  • Maintain shop cleanliness standards (6S) and perform daily walkarounds (PMs) perform relevant data collection initiatives to enhance machining tooling production and planned maintenance activities take initiative to improve area processes and assist in consumable and material inventory as well as ordering to ensure needed materials and tooling are on hand
  • Follow safe work practices and complete necessary formal and onthejob training comply with all environmental health and safety rules policies and procedures as well as ethics requirements participate in shopspecific safety training programs and ensure your compliance with OSHA job safety requirements
  • Actively participate in Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) as our fundamental operating philosophy and culture
  • May occasionally work extended hours or variable shifts as needed

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High school diploma or GED w/ 3 years experience or postsecondary technical education in tool design tool and die making and/or equivalent job experience and education
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Basic mechanical and design aptitude
  • Desire to pursue a career in the skilled trades field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • CAD/CAM experience or training
  • Blueprint reading proficiency
