POSITION SUMMARY:

Position Title: IBM Sales Engineer

Job Summary: The IBM Sales Engineer plays a critical role in supporting sales efforts by providing deep technical expertise and consultative guidance on IBMs software hardware and cloud solutions. This individual will partner with account executives to understand client needs deliver technical presentations and demos and architect IBMbased solutions that align with customer goals. This is a fully remote position.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties:

  • Partner with the sales team to drive revenue growth by serving as the technical lead throughout the sales cycle.
  • Understand client business challenges and translate them into technical solutions leveraging IBM technologies (e.g. IBM Cloud Red Hat IBM Storage Watson AI Power Systems Security etc.).
  • Prepare and deliver tailored product demonstrations whiteboarding sessions and proofofconcept engagements.
  • Respond to technical RFPs RFIs and questionnaires with accuracy and strategic insight.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of IBMs product roadmap competitive landscape and partner ecosystem.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer sales and IBM technical support or product teams.
  • Support postsales transition by collaborating with delivery and customer success teams as needed.
  • Represent the company at IBM events user groups and technical forums.

Other Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned.



Requirements

Required:

  • Strong understanding of IBM products including Cloud Pak solutions Red Hat OpenShift Watson AI Power Systems and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience designing enterprise solutions and conducting technical discovery sessions.
  • Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • IBM certification(s)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for customer engagements and events.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.


Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with federal or regulated industries (healthcare finance public sector).
  • Working knowledge of containerization Kubernetes and DevOps methodologies.
  • Understanding of modern security architectures and compliance standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 5 years or more of experience in technical sales presales or solutions architecture preferably with IBM or a related technology stack.

This is a fully remote position and candidates must be located within the DC Maryland or Northern Virginia area to accommodate occasional inperson meetings and collaboration.

Salary Description
$130000 plus OTE (depending on experience)
