WQAD News 8 the TEGNA ABC affiliate serving the Quad Cities is seeking a Temporary Photojournalist to support our John Deere Classic PGA Golf Tournament coverage from Wednesday July 2 through Sunday July 6 2025.
We are looking for a highly skilled visual storyteller who thrives in a fastpaced eventfocused environment and can create compelling video content for television digital and social media platforms. The ideal candidate is experienced in shooting sports or live events confident working independently or with a team and comfortable navigating large venues and tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Capture highquality video and audio from tournament grounds for use in daily sportscasts and digital platforms.
- Edit video content with speed and creativity under deadline pressure.
- Collaborate with reporters producers and digital staff to deliver engaging content across platforms.
- Set up and execute live shots using Dejero or other IPbased video transmission tools.
- Maintain and transport gear across varied terrain on the course.
- Work flexible hours during tournament week including early mornings evenings and potential long shifts.

Requirements:
- 13 years of professional experience preferred in television news sports or event coverage.
- Strong nonlinear editing skills (EDIUS or similar system preferred).
- Knowledge of composition lighting and audio recording in dynamic outdoor conditions.
- Must be dependable detailoriented and able to perform under pressure.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. of gear; occasional lifting up to 80 lbs. with or without accommodation.
This is a temporary eventspecific assignment offering the opportunity to be part of one of the Quad Cities most highprofile annual sporting events.
Pay Range
$20 $20 USD
