Under the direction of the Director of Design & Digital Media Production this position supports the designing of print publications collateral and digital projects including webpages and apps for divisions colleges and departments across the campus through provision of graphic design/art direction as well as oversight of preand postproduction processes.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong design skills and ability to approach projects in a creative manner to meet client needs for print or electronic media. Thorough knowledge of computer graphics prepress production and offset printing processes. Strong project management skills including but not limited to the ability to communicate design concepts; adhere to client budgets and work within tight deadlines. Strong consultative and persuasive skills demonstrating expertise in key areas requiring graphic communications support.
Professional proficiency in the use of computer graphics hardware and software in Macintosh and PC platforms. Professional expertise in the use of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is required proficiency in the use of Adobe XD After Effects Adobe Express. Familiarity with UX/UI design principles. Knowledge of HTML and CSS. Proficiency in creating original illustrations infographic and layouts.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and nondiscrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a BA or BFA in Art or Graphic Design or related field and four years related professional or technical experience required.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4842 $8759 per month.

Time Base
1.0 timebase 40 hours per week.
This position is eligible for telecommuting with one required inoffice day per week and additional onsite presence as needed for inperson meetings or emergency communications. Occasional night and weekend work may be required to support emergency communications.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
