Summary of Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic International Finance team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for managing the P&L of one of our regions within our international business which is covered in Europe Middle East and Rest Of World providing support to our international business leads and ensuring the correct profitability at country level of our Next Direct business.
Our International operation is extremely high profile with regular meetings every month with senior operational managers to monitor and control their costs and most importantly to support them in producing analysis and support for future opportunities.
Over the last few years our international business and operations have experienced huge growth as we have entered more countries and developed our overseas operations building our market share into differing territories.
Our International Finance team is responsible for delivering finance support to key stakeholders across the business for a variety of purposes including:
Managing the P&Ls and supporting in other areas within the international business as needed ensure the end to end position of the P&Ls are correct including accurate sales reporting ensuring costs are appropriately allocated and our net profit reported is correct and accurate
Regular review and contact with finance partners and business owners to review their expenditure
Close liaison with our marketing team our marketing spend is growing year on year allowing us to develop our presence in countries and territories which means we need to ensure accurate costings & profitabilities to be used within marketing calculations and appraisals
Reporting sales reviewing performance and forecasting future sales Reporting weekly sales and forecasting sales on a monthly basis for your area by country and split full price and markdown.
Budgeting twice yearly budgeting process aligning with key business stakeholders to produce an accurate view on the international business
Financial modelling be able to build commercial models to analyse profitability of new overseas initiatives
Balance sheet completion on a monthly basis Complete balance sheet recs with backing documentation as required
Alongside these areas of responsibility there are other key attributes we are looking for:
CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified/PartQualified
IT literate Excel (Essential)
Ability to analyse interpret and communicate information clearly
Excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure delivery of work to timescales and the ability to prioritise own workload in a fast paced environment.
