What You Will Do

The RealTime Embedded Systems discipline within CDS is responsible for the foundational software layer that abstracts the hardware and manages the resources for engine control and prognostic and health management applications for P&W engines using state of the art technologies tools & methodologies.

The RealTime Embedded Systems discipline has an opening for an Embedded Software Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

The Embedded Software Engineer will be part of a team responsible for architecting designing and testing software for the nextgeneration FADEC technology.

As an Embedded Software Engineer the candidate will contribute to requirements generation embedded software development and integration and testing of software on the target hardware in addition to developing tools to assist with software generation and testing.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelors degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• 2 years of engineering experience or an Advanced Degree.
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer

• Demonstrated software programming experience in C C Python
• Basic understanding on realtime embedded software concepts such as scheduling concurrency coherency
• Handson experience with multicore processors preferred
• Experience with embedded systems debugging and system analysis tools (e.g. JTAG emulators logic analyzers)
• Experience with embedded systems development environments such as Vitis and the GNU compiler collection (GCC)
• Experience with embedded realtime operating systems (RTOS)
• Experience with the Agile methodology
• Familiarity with SPI MILSTD1394 MILSTD1553 and/or the Ethernet communication stack
• Familiarity with SDLC (software development life cycle)
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like git and understanding of automated build system workflows
• Security Clearance is preferred; willing to obtain and maintain. This cant be added if there is no security clearance required.

Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development and support including requirements analysis & definition system & software architecture algorithm design product software design verification & validation and engine and flight test support.

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

• Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 66000 USD 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
