Job Description

Position Summary
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana University Bloomingtons Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies invites applications for a fulltime nontenuretrack Visiting Assistant Professor of Japanese Language and Linguistics to begin August 1 2025. The successful candidate will be able to teach Japanese language and linguistic courses. Ability to teach Introduction to Japanese Linguistics or a Japaneserelated content course in English is a plus. Application materials should include the following: Curriculum Vitae a sample syllabus for Japanese language class (preferably first or secondyear level) a statement of teaching philosophy and contact information for three (3) references to provide letters of recommendation. Candidates may be invited to submit a link to a teaching video after initial screening. Review of applications will begin immediately with all applications received by May 23 2025 being guaranteed full consideration. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
