The team is central to supporting the activities of the companys Underwriting Risk Capital Partners and Portfolio Solutions and Analytics departments and is responsible for the strategic direction of RenaissanceRes inhouse purposebuilt risk systems. The Portfolio Analytics Team acts as the interface between business needs and the technical support required to meet them. The role of the Portfolio Risk Analyst is to work closely with the Underwriting IT and Risk teams on the execution analysis and enhancement of the portfolio management analytics and reporting framework.
This role demands a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical jargon into a language that is accessible to business colleagues and vice versa. The role requires an analytical mindset an intellectual curiosity and an openness to embracing new ideas. The ability to selfstart and the confidence to take initiative are essential attributes for this position.

Responsibilities
Supporting our Underwriting teams in managing the representation of their risk in RenRes daily portfolio modelling and aggregation process including regular troubleshooting of modelled results and addressing queries arising within reports.
Investigate evaluate and advise on risk modelling and management processes to enable improved analyses risk reporting manipulation of data and workflow.
Use third party vendor models proprietary tools and systems to effectively extract analyze and report for deal and portfolio analyses; interpret and challenge model results.
Support evaluation deployment and/or development of proprietary and thirdparty risk models.
Support ad hoc projects such as model research benchmarking studies and portfolio analysis.
Working with our Underwriting Reserving Risk and Risk Development teams to understand their individual data requirements and contribute to devising solutions that hone and strengthen modelling reporting and data management.
Providing datadriven technical solutions and support in activities relating to risk management modelling reporting and process automation.
Documenting modelling methodologies business logic and reporting logic as well as participating in the review selection and adoption of thirdparty risk models and solutions.
Engaging in broadening the skill and knowledge development of the team through sharing individual expertise to contribute to peer group development.
Qualifications Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree in a numerical statistical physical sciences or financial discipline or the equivalent industry experience.
Experience at a re/insurer reinsurance broker or a vendor catastrophe modelling firm is advantageous but not required.
Excellent quantitative problem solving and analytical skills.
A highly developed problemsolving mentality with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new and evolving technologies and modelling methodologies
Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and multitask in a timely accurate manner.
Intellectually curious with a strong work ethic.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and SQL would be beneficial.
Experience in business intelligence and report development would be beneficial.
