Job Description
Healthcare systems may not allow adequate access to nor be adequately responsive to Black Indigenous and People of Color and other groups. This may include people living in underresourced settings who are managing in the face of tremendous stressors. Add to this encounters with the healthcare system can be extremely stressful as patients and families are attempting to cope with the stress of medical illness and treatments. As health care providers we want interventions to be conducive to a safe respectful and healing environment. But without awareness of our potential biases and humility in our interactions with patients and families we might unwittingly contribute to their stress to retraumatization and to challenging interactions
The Code CARE Program Manager will lead an interprofessional team and processes that will support patients families and the clinical team to approach challenges in a safe equitable trauma informed framework and reduce the need for deescalation and utilization of security and law enforcement.
The Code CARE Program Manager will ensure that our safety and support efforts are grounded in antiracist philosophy and methodology and are trauma informed. The Program Manager will lead efforts to ensure partnership among leaders that will help build our institutional capacity for racial humility and trauma informed approaches to support and safety as well as collaborating with external partners and resources that may help address the needs of the populations for whom safety calls are disproportionately made.

Applies extensive knowledge of quality data analysis and / or improvement (QI) concepts methodologies and data collection and abstraction techniques to substantial projects of large scope and high degrees of complexity.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $140800 $219300 (Annual Rate).
