As an individual needs teaching assistant you will support students with individual needs and disabilities through personalised and group instruction using effective strategies and assistive technology to enhance learning. Youll develop and deliver tailored interventions record progress and provide valuable feedback to teaching colleagues.
Your role includes analysing data to identify students needing support assisting with assessments and exam arrangements and facilitating smooth transitions within the school. Building strong relationships with students parents colleagues and external agencies is key along with maintaining high expectations for student progress and behaviour. Youll also participate in departmental administration professional development and school activities contributing to the overall success of the school.
You will have English and Maths to GCSE level or equivalent grade C or above and at least NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent or a willingness to work towards. Experience of working with children is essential along with knowledge of the needs of students with IN and disabilities and the challenges they face. Experience of working with primary school aged children together with a background working with individuals with speech and language difficulties would be advantageous.
