Job Description

Registered Nurse – Pediatric ECMO Specialist
Job Summary:
Join a highly specialized pediatric care team that works in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care using the nursing process. This role involves performing comprehensive nursing assessments assisting with exams and treatments educating patients and families and maintaining accurate medical records. Nurses are hired and placed based on experience levels ranging from newly licensed RNs to those with 10 years of experience.

About the Role:
The Pediatric ECMO Specialist team plays a critical role in responding to emergent lifethreatening situations in a leading pediatric medical center. As an ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) Specialist you will operate advanced lifesupport equipment during rapidresponse procedures to provide lifesaving circulatory and respiratory support. The program has been recognized for excellence in ECMO care and has been in operation since 1992 treating more than 500 pediatric patients to date. This highvolume team supports approximately 30 children annually.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • Licensure/Certification:

    • Current license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

    • Additional certifications may be required depending on the unit or specialty

  • Experience Tiers:

    • RN I: Less than 1 year

    • RN II: 1–3 years

    • RN III: 3–10 years

    • RN IV: 10 years

  • Skills:

    • Strong written and verbal communication

    • Ability to work effectively in highacuity and fastpaced environments
