QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree from recognized accredited college or university;
- Valid Texas teaching certification in secondary education; ESL certification required;
- Minimum of four (4) years of successful experience as a secondary science teacher;
- Preference given to applicants with experience in secondary science;

- Ability to develop and write curriculum;
- Ability to develop and lead professional learning;
- Ability to manage data;
- Demonstrated skills in leading motivating and cooperating with other teachers campus administrators and district personnel.

SALARY:
Pay Grade T60(Teacher Classification) as approved by the Board of Trustees
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the development and implementation of secondary math curriculum to support emergent bilingual students.
- Coach secondary math teachers during gradelevel planning and share activities andinstructional strategies to differentiate for emergent bilingual students.
- Assist secondary math teachers in understanding the ELPS TEKS and the scope and sequence to plan instruction.
- Observe math teachers who work with emergent bilingual students and provide feedback.
- Participate in instructional planning sessions and model lessons in classrooms with emergent bilingual students.
- Create and provide staff development training for secondary math teachers and instructional leaders on ESL strategies to support emergent bilingual students.
- Observe math teachers who work with emergent bilingual students and provide feedback.
- Work with campus leaders and teachers using data in developing action plans to improve emergent bilingual student achievement in all areas (STAAR local assessments and TELPAS).
- Be knowledgeable of district software and TELPAS processes.
- Attend staff development focusing on strategies to support EBs.
- Communicate with the Secondary ESL Coordinator regarding the development and progress of the secondary emergent bilingual students.
- Work with coordinators/director on emergent bilingual program evaluations.
- Assist with implementation and supervision of EB summer school programs.
- Demonstrate initiative and high standards work without supervision works toward selfimprovement; continues to grow professionally.
- Assume a leadership role in special projects as they arise.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function for both the campusbased support and responsibilities and districtbased support and responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Secondary ESL Coordinator and Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Special Populations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment;Must be willing to obtain and maintain a current automated external defibrillator (AED) and CPR certificate
- Posture:Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting

- Lifting:Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move text books and classroom equipment
