Position Description
The Classroom Teacher will provide instruction in the subjects required by the district and authorized by credential(s) utilizing a course of study adopted by the Board of Education and appropriate learning activities guides textbooks and other instructional materials provided by the district.
Compensation
school year $85812 $153847
Up to two (2) stipends available for Masters Doctorate Special Education Credential National Board Certification or Bilingual credential (BCLAD or BASP.)
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university required
Licenses and/or Certifications
Appropriate California teaching credential
Valid Drivers License or Government Issued Identification
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of current stateadopted standards curriculum and policies.
Ability to organize and implement curriculum to facilitate student understanding of subject matter. Ability to infuse technology into the curriculum.
Ability to work effectively with administrators colleagues district office and schoolbased staff students parents and community.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Establish and maintain an environment conducive to the intellectual physical social and emotional development of students.
Create and maintain a learning environment that reflects diversity and encourages constructive and productive interactions among students.
Provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education. Create and maintain a rigorous learning environment with high expectations and appropriate supports for all students.
Design and deliver instructional plans that are focused on student mastery of curriculum goals and stateadopted standards.
Design and deliver learning experiences that develop students critical thinking problem solving creative thinking communication collaboration and global citizenship.
Engage appropriate instructional strategies resources and technologies to support the learning of all students.
Implement second language acquisition strategies to support English Learners.
Use a variety of formative and summative assessment techniques to establish learning goals and to plan differentiate and modify instruction.
Collaborate with colleagues and the broader professional community to support student learning. Continue to improve as a professional educator by engaging in districtprovided and selfselected professional growth opportunities.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise students in a variety of school related settings.
Communicate and interact with students parents staff and community.
Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment materials and facilities.
Requisition necessary instructional materials and supplies and maintain required inventory records. Assist in accomplishing campus department and district goals and initiatives.
Plan and coordinate the work of instructional associates teacher assistants and other paraprofessionals as appropriate.
Perform basic attendance accounting and clerical services as required.
Attend mandatory meetings (IEP SST Faculty et al).
Attend to contractual obligations.
