40Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Coordinator provides support within Supply Chain for all facets of supplies and purchased services activities for all departments and Physicians groups within Cook Childrens Health Care System (CCHCS). The Strategic Sourcing Coordinator acts as a liaison between CCHCS and vendors to ensure the quality and safety of selected products for optimal patient care using value analysis. This position reviews and assesses applicable financial evidenced based clinical research to guide in the appropriate selections and implementations of costeffective products purchased services and processes for CCHCS.
Education & Experience:
High School or equivalent required.
Bachelors degree in healthcare nursing preferred or ten years of experience in hospital environment.
23 years purchasing supply chain and/or contracting in the hospital sector preferred.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the clinical and operational needs unique to a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of systems procedures and related supplies involved in patient care.
Knowledge of computer applications necessary for data retrieval and analysis i.e. Excel Access Word and Power Point required.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to proficiently manage projects and set priorities.
Ability to balance clinical knowledge and analytical skills in guiding objective decision making.
