JOB DESCRIPTION:
Teaches District approved curriculum in elementary school art. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. Plans a program of study employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals establishes clear objectives for all lessons units projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Assists in diagnosing the learning disabilities of students with the assistance of district specialists. Evaluates pupils academic and social growth keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports. Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulations. Remains available to students and parents for educationrelated purposes outside the instructional day.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree or Higher in Education Art or a related field or foreign equivalent. Eligible for North Carolina Educator License. Passing score on Praxis II Test.
