Salary and Benefits
The salary range is $43998 $95320 per year depending on education and experience.
The salary is based on the24/25 SEA Certified Salary Schedule.

Springfield Public Schools is located in Springfield Oregon in the heart of the Willamette Valley and serves 185 square miles of the city of Springfield and East/Central Lane County. We are directly to the East of Eugene where the University of Oregon is located. About the Position
Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position ofMiddle School Band & OrchestraTeacher at Thurston Middle School. To support this work successful candidates will possess the following characteristics that support our vision ofEvery Student Every Dayand share our values:

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to plan for instruct and assess student learning directly linked to grade level standards;
- Knowledge and experience with middle schoolaged students;
- Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with the ability to implement strategies to support instruction;
- Demonstrated understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K12 school community;
- Strong student management skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom management;
- Ability to establish effective and collaborative working relationships with diverse staff student and community populations;
- Knowledge of and ability to implement equitable grading practices.
- Ability to connect music curriculum with world cultures;
- Experience in designing and implementing middle school band and orchestra instruction;
- Proficiency in using and modeling the use of a variety of musical instruments;
- Ability to integrate technology into music instruction;
- Ability to implement student performance that demonstrates curriculum components to families and community members;
- Ability to incorporate existing classroom resources into Grade 68 general music classes;
- Experience with music program development and sustainability including fundraising instrument purchasing and repair and community connectedness.
Minimum Qualifications
- A valid State of Oregon teaching license;with a Music Endorsement;
- Successfully pass fingerprinting criminal Oregon Department of Education and TSPC background checks.
