The Campaign Finance Board is a nonpartisan independent city agency that empowers New Yorkers to have a greater impact on their elections. Our mission is to make local democracy more open transparent and equitable by removing barriers to participation.
We make it easier for New Yorkers to vote meaningfully support candidates for city office and run for office themselves. NYC Votes our voter engagement initiative meets people where they are to share trustworthy election information and help New Yorkers make a plan to vote. We publish the citywide Voter Guide which delivers information about candidates directly to voters doors. Our public matching funds program ensures small contributions can make a big difference allowing regular people to run for office by relying on the support of other regular people not just wealthy donors and special interests. And we lift the veil on how candidates raise and spend money increasing transparency and accountability in local government.
We believe that when every New Yorker is empowered to participate meaningfully in elections candidates will better reflect the communities they serve elected leaders will be more accountable to the public and New Yorkers will have a democracy they can truly trust.
THE DIVISION/UNIT
The Public Affairs division promotes the agencys key role in equipping all candidates and voters to power a fairer and more open democracy in New York City. We engage New Yorkers inform them about elections and boost their civic participation in the democratic process. Within Public Affairs the Partnerships and Outreach unit works to build partnerships across the city to disseminate voting information deliver accessible voter education and conduct direct to voter outreach. The intention of this teams work is to create pathways for all New Yorkers to gain trustworthy and accessible information and education around voting and democracy. Only then can we authentically increase civic participation and mobilize our communities beyond just voting.
We are seeking a Manager to lead the Neighborhoods Team which is focused on building trusting relationships with community partners and delivering inlanguage voter education to voters that speak a language other than English (LOTE) in low voter turnout neighborhoods. The Neighborhoods Team works with communitybased organizations faithbased institutions libraries businesses local groups and other community partners to disseminate key election information and offer educational workshops covering topics such as Why Vote How to Vote Voting Rights Voter Protections and more.
The Manager will be responsible for leading and supporting a growing team of neighborhoodbased Coordinators to execute partnership building and education delivery across 13 languages. The Manager will oversee the unique strategies for engagement in each of our priority geographies and support Coordinators in attaining the resources required to meet the specific needs of each community. The Manager will work closely with the Associate Director to refine strategy manage budget measure impact and navigate internal collaborations to support the Neighborhoods Team. Additionally the Manager will be responsible for setting the direction of our curriculum training and development ensuring that the content is accurate accessible and relevant to immigrant voters.
Given these responsibilities we are looking for someone with a high level of leadership organizational communication and collaboration skills. This role will require managing multiple staff and addressing their unique needs learning the priorities of multiple diverse communities and navigating many crossteam projects and collaborations. The success of this work relies heavily on interpersonal skills which is why we are looking for someone with demonstrated discernment empathy awareness and selfaccountability. Beyond the hard skills the ability to detach from outcomes hold space for others and facilitate a working environment where staff can reach their potential is key to this role.

Relationship Building Strategy and Management:
Support team in identifying partnership strategies aligned with strategic goals
Develop an evaluation framework for relationship building and management
Map partnership data and analysis to determine opportunities for improvement
Manage key relationships with coalitions leaders and other institutions that work with immigrant communities and educate New Yorks that speak a language other than English (LOTE)
Support the implementation of CRM to track recruitment and engagement
Material and Resource Development and Distribution:
Work with the Product Management and Operations Team (PMO) to produce resources based on needs of the communities the Neighborhood Team serves
Lead the development and execution of a feedback loop to enhance NYC Votes materials (Voter Guide Key Election Dates Palm Cards Website etc.) relevance translation quality and more for voters that speak a language other than English (LOTE)
Education Strategy and Delivery:
Set the direction and oversee the development of educational content and curriculum
Deliver presentations workshops and training to partner organizations and their communities which may include various formats depending on trust safety engagementlevel language skills and other aspects of the audience
Work with the Language Access Team to secure interpretation and translation services required to develop content and present information to voters
Specialized Knowledge:
Work with Policy and Research to utilize data and reports to develop strategy for voter engagement in South Brooklyn East Brooklyn South Bronx and North Central Queens
Lead Public Affairs working group to develop a comprehensive internal profile of each community the Neighborhood Team serves
Play a key role in the agencylevel projects and programs by participating and delivering specialized knowledge and providing input on new projects
Supervision:
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation
Hire and manage FTEs to support execution of the Neighborhoods strategy
Conduct regular team meetings to review progress address challenges and celebrate achievements
Address interpersonal or operational conflicts within the team professionally and constructively
Team Workflow and Processes
Work with the Associate Director and other Managers to design develop and implement effective internal processes to streamline organizational effectiveness
Support staff in transitioning to new systems
Model and set standards for work products and processes

Qualifications :
