Consider joining the Pennex family as a Quality Inspector. This position inspects incoming materials extruded parts and fabricated products for conformance to specifications.
This will be a 12hour shift with weekend rotation. This will be 6am to 6pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows Part Specific Work Instructions to complete extruded part inspection requirements. Visually inspect parts for surface defects and other nonconformities.
Utilize measuring devices (tape rules calipers squares protractors micrometers OGP gages) to inspect parts and verify that all dimensions are in tolerance according to part specific work instructions customer requirements print specifications or Aluminum Association standards.
Test parts for hardness physical and mechanical properties using Webster Ames Hardness Rockwell Hardness or TiniusOlsen tensile testing equipment per Part Specific Work Instructions customer requirements ASTM B221 or Aluminum Association standards.
Inspect test properties and document measurements of new or revised product samples using First Article Inspection process. Complete paperwork package and prepare samples for shipment to customers. Assist with PPAP testing documentation data collection and analysis gage studies and other APQP requirements.
Complete product audits per schedule and process audits as requested by QA Manager or Management Team.
DMR control and document all nonconforming parts per QMP and inspection procedures. Document all material that is designated as scrap for customer service department. Enter all nonconformances into the designated database.
Prepare samples and complete coring analysis on designated parts.
Setup and assist with roll correction and rework of nonconforming parts.
Provide technical support to press packing shipping and die shop crews including product tolerances visual standards and product disposition.
Inspect shipments of extruded fabricated finished and anodized parts that are supplied by outside sources before shipment to customers.
Assist with any additional duties or testing as requested by the QA Manager.
Assist with various ISO system functions including audits calibration and documentation. Maintain calibration data base system and procedure compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Three or more years of extrusion and/or fabrication related experience and/or training
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions blueprints diagrams and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
