JOB SUMMARYThe Student Support Interventionist assists teachers and instructional staff in the supervision and instruction of Special Education students. The Interventionist supports students by meeting their individual needs in the classroom by assisting with implementing identified accommodations and modifications. The Student Support Interventionist performs a variety of responsibilities and tasks to influence positive changes in student academic achievement and RESPONSIBILITIESAdapts classroom work under the direction of the teacher for the purpose of providing a method to support and/or reinforce lessons; Confers with teachers for the purpose of assisting in the evaluation of students progress and/or implementing students objectives;Monitors students in the classroom hallways cafeteria etc. for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment;Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling copying etc.) for the purpose of supporting teachers and administrative staff as needed;Participates in staff development as needed;May serve as a cofacilitator in a daily advisory building relationships with a small group of students; may serve as a substitute teacher; andOther duties as SCHOOLSizer School is located in Fitchburg MA draws from cities and towns in North Central Massachusetts and is chartered to serve 400 students in grades 712.
