CLASS TITLE: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST/PRESCHOOL
This position is for the 2025/2026 school year.
BASIC FUNCTION: To support instruction by serving as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide consultation intervention assessment and comprehensive psychological services to students in the Hardin County Schools.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Consultation/Intervention
- Provide directconsultation services for students experiencing academic and/or behavioral difficulties by participating in Intervention Assistance Teams or collaborating with school staff in identifying difficulties developingand implementing appropriate interventions.
- Provide indirectconsultation services for teachers administrators and parents bysupporting staff implementation of policies and procedures providing school wide consultation and training and disseminating relevant information.
- Provide consultationservices to parents by providing and interpreting information (such as psychiatric diagnoses) and assisting them in the intervention and Special Education processes.
Psychoeducational Assessment
- Conduct appropriate screening assessment measures for academic and attention needs as needed to gather data to use in intervention strategy development.
- Conduct FunctionalBehavior Assessments and assist school staff in development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Follow Hardin CountySchools Policies and Procedures in regard to psychoeducational assessmentfor students initially referred and conduct appropriate evaluations(attend referral ARC collect data from relevant sources coordinate andconduct appropriate psychoeducational assessments compile IntegratedAssessment Report communicate results to ARC and assist in developmentand implementation of Individual Education Program).
- Facilitate reevaluationprocess as outlined in the Hardin County Schools Special EducationPolicies and Procedures (identify students due for reevaluation compilingprevious assessment and current progress information into Triennial Reevaluation Report Form participating in ARC meeting to discusseligibility and reevaluation needs assessing as needed compilingassessment report and attending ARC to communicate results).
- Assist school anddistrict staff in regards to Special Education students who havetransferred from another school and review previous school records assist schools inimplemented current IEP or placing students on Temporary Placementdetermine students eligibility for services under Kentucky Guidelinesinitiate reevaluation process when records are incomplete or inconsistentwith Kentucky requirements.
Comprehensive Psychological Services
- Act in accordance withexisting ethical standards and regulations develop and maintain DueProcess records and confidentiality
- Facilitate socialskills group counseling
- Seek professionaldevelopment opportunities
- Collaborate with otherdistrict departments and community services
- Participate inscheduled support team meetings
- Other duties asassigned by the Director of Special Education

Certificate For School Psychologist
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
202 days. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
