FRENCH TEACHER
Parttime (.25 FTE) Term position
West Vancouver Secondary School
Effective September 2 2025 until June 30 2026
The annual salary for a fulltime teaching position ranges from $59711 to $109520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications and Experience
A parttime (.25 FTE) French 912 position is available at West Vancouver Secondary School. The successful teacher will demonstrate the following:
- Appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching French
- Postsecondary coursework and/or ELL instructional certification considered an asset
- Knowledgeable in the use of Proficiency Scales for assessment
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Core Competencies Big Ideas and Learning Standards for the appropriate curricular area
- Hold a valid BC professional teaching certificate
- Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum
- An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners
- A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills
- A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting
