The Police Desk is the first point of contact for MSU DPPS. This positron will work with other student employees. Responds to email questions posed to Department of Police and Public Safety. Locations this person will be scheduled at are the Welcome Center and the Police Desk. Answers nonemergent phone calls and provides informational assistance to the customers of the Department of Police and Public Safety. Directs customers to appropriate sources. Provides clerical support for the MSU Parking Office. Answers screens prioritizes and routes calls to other bureaus within the department. We are seeking a candidate that is enthusiastic polite detail orientated and who knows how to diffuse and redirect customers. Knowledge of parking rules and regulations as well as building and lot locations throughout campus are helpful. Must be a good communicator and have excellent writing skills.
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in maintaining accurate records data entry word processing typing and/or balancing cash receipts; or knowledge of technical or medical terminology and/or technical training related to the field of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

MSU DPPS is a 24/7 operation. This position will be schedule 11:00am7:30pm. Days may vary based on operational demand. Nights and weekends are a normal part of the hours we work to support the MSU Community.
